IMPORTANT! YOU NEED TO APPLY FOR An indian entry VISA IN ADVANCE!

Don’t worry, it’s easy, only costs $80-100 and is quick to do. Note that the website is a bit rudimentary and may take a few tries to get working properly

You can apply for the visa starting 120 days before arrival up until 4 days before the trip

Only use the official government website: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html — you will be requesting the “eTourist Visa” and paying via credit card. Please read their “Instructions for Applicant” before starting the process.

Upon arrival in India, you’ll need to bring with you a printed copy of the following:

  1. Visa approval notice (which they will send to you via email).

  2. Your return ticket.

  3. Bank statement showing you have funds to afford to be there (I wasn’t asked for the latter, but they say you need it).

FLIGHT INSTRUCTIONS

Arriving Flight Requirements

India is far away and it takes a long time to get there - especially from North America! Your flight to Delhi (airport code: DEL) should depart the day before the trip’s start date since it takes a full day to travel there (i.e., depart Sunday to arrive on Monday).

Hotel check-in is available beginning at 3pm on Monday. Our program starts at 10am Tuesday morning in the hotel lobby, so arriving the night before will ensure that you feel well rested. If you would like to arrive on an earlier day Justifi can help arrange accommodations (for an additional fee) in our Delhi hotel — just indicate when you want to check-in on the Registration form (Step 3).

Departing Flight Requirements

Book return flights home from Amritsar (Airport code: ATQ) for the last day of the trip (Thursday). We will ensure that you can get at the airport by 2pm for international check-in. Note that this a different airport than on arrival in India.

Want help booking your flights? See our Travel Desk for a list of recommended agents. Please take care to book flights correctly! Any fees/penalties due to reservation changes or cancellations are your responsibility— when in doubt, reach out!

Arrival Instructions

Visas: An Indian entry visa is required for all visitors. Justifi strongly advises that you request an “eTourist Visa” in advance (see instructions above). If you were unable to (or forgot!) it is possible get a regular visa when you arrive at the airport in Delhi but it will take much longer to process and get out of the airport.

Airport Arrival: Once you clear customs and have picked up your suitcase, visit an ATM or money changer to get cash. We recommend you have at least 7,000 Rupee (approximately $100 USD) to get started. You can also purchase a local SIM card for your unlocked phone from back home in the arrivals area from vendors such as Airtel.

Leaving the Airport: Justifi can arrange a private driver to meet you at the airport (for an extra fee) or you can get a regular taxi outside of the airport terminal. Alternatively, you can download and use the Uber app on your phone. Exact hotel information will be provided two weeks before the trip.
